Recommended Directions:
For Bare Metal Surfaces: Sand, clean, then prime and sand surface prior to applying SKS Stoneguard,
follow with a top coat after SKS has dried see NOTE below.
For Aluminum: First prime with self etch primer, dry then cover with High Build primer filler dry then scuff the
surface prior to coating with the SKS.
For E coated surfaces use a red scuff pad or sanding fleece, clean with Clean Prep, dry then apply SKS
Stoneguard.
For Painted Surfaces: use a red scuff pad or sanding fleece over entire area to give mechanical adhesion,
clean with Clean Prep , dry and then apply SKS Stoneguard.
NOTE: The appearance of the treated surface is a guide to when it can be safely painted over. The color of
the compound when it is applied (bluish color) differs from the final color (black), which it assumes when
dry. The change of color takes place from the edges to the middle. When the color tone is uniform, the
product is dry. Paint time depends upon temperature, humidity and thickness of product.
Suggested paint time is 12 hours. Must be primed first with normal primers. ( recommended prime
with 2 K or regular primer then paint over the primer.) If greater than 48 hours scuff with maroon scuff pad.).
