The label instructions : Before using , shake the canister well. The substrate must be dry and free of rust, dirt, oil and grease. Old coating materials should be removed.
This product is for professional use only , therefore it is up to the professional to decide if this Wurth product is correct for their application and method of application. Product testing is advised.
It is always recommended to follow OEM procedures with regard to repairs on vehicles.
With regard to use of primers- generally Aluminum surfaces do not hold coatings well and therefore Self Etch Primers are used first. Followed by standard primers to prevent incompatibility with any other coating. With regard to Steel surfaces, More coatings typically are better protection than single coatings. Rust conversion coating following by a standard primer followed by the coating can prevent small breaks in the coating from rusting and travelling and undermining the top coating.
