The Threadlockers cure anaerobically, meaning that it only hardens where the adhesive has no contact with atmospheric oxygen. At the same time, the hardening speed continues to be influenced by the catalytic effect of metal and the gap width. Excessive adhesive that is pressed out of the gap between the two parts will not harden and can be removed with a dry cloth or a cloth saturated with acetone cleaner.
